‘Hello Hong Kong’ campaign issues 200,000 free air tickets

As part of the campaign, more than 760,000 tourists have also received HK$100 consumption vouchers that offer discounts at various outlets and attractions.

HONG KONG – Approximately 200,000 free air tickets were distributed as part of Hong Kong’s global promotional campaign aimed at enticing visitors back to the city, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Kevin Yeung Yun-hung said on Wednesday.

The giveaway, under the Hello Hong Kong campaign initiated by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government, will end in September. About 300,000 tickets remain available as of Wednesday.

Hong Kong International Airport expects the campaign will bring more than 1.5 million visitors to Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, as part of the campaign, more than 760,000 tourists have received HK$100 ($12.77) consumption vouchers. The vouchers offer discounts at dining and retail outlets, attractions, and transportation, and will eventually be available to one million visitors, Yeung said.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board announced its plan to invite over 1,000 travel trade, media, film stars, key opinion leaders, and Hong Kong enthusiasts to visit the city in a bid to promote its international image.

Additionally, the HKTB will lead the travel trade to participate in more than 20 major tourism exhibitions, as well as in-person, virtual, and hybrid events on the Chinese mainland and overseas throughout the year.
