NEW DELHI – Indian President Draupadi Murmu today said that relations between Bangladesh and India would be further strengthened in the coming days based on goodwill, trust, understanding and mutual respect.
The Indian president made the observation when Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Muhammad Imran paid a courtesy call on her at the Rashtrapati Bhaban in Delhi today, according to a statement of the Bangladesh High Commission in India.
They discussed various issues of bilateral cooperation including the recent successful visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India, which has further consolidated the existing relationships between the two neighbouring countries.
The outgoing Bangladesh envoy thanked Indian government and people for their all-out support during his tour of duty. He also invited the dignitary to pay a visit to Bangladesh.
Muhammad Imran expressed hope that Indian President would be able to visit Bangladesh at her convenience.
Draupadi Murmu appreciated the High Commissioner for his role during his tenure and wished all the successes in the coming days.
