276 buildings in Myanmar scam compound KK Park demolished; 119 more in Shwe Kuk Kol sealed, confiscated

From January 30 to November 30, 2025, a total of 12,945 foreign nationals who illegally entered Myanmar were detained and screened. Of these, 10,029 have been systematically deported to relevant countries through Thailand in accordance with legal procedures.

YANGON – It is reported that 276 buildings in the KK Park area were demolished and 119 illegal buildings in the Shwe Kuk Kol area were sealed and confiscated.

The government is continuing to systematically demolish illegal buildings and seize equipment used in online fraud and gambling in the Shwe Kuk Kol and KK Park areas, where online fraud and gambling are most prevalent, with a multi-stakeholder team including security forces, administrative organizations, and local officials.

As such, today (November 30), six more illegal buildings, three 2-storey buildings and three 4-storey buildings, were demolished in the Myawaddy-Me Htaw Tha Lay (KK Park) Area (3) area. This brings the total number of illegal buildings in the KK Park area to 276 out of 635.

Similarly, the clearance operations in the Shwe Kuk Kol area began on November 18. Today, four 1-story buildings, 63 2-story buildings, 17 3-story buildings, three 4-story buildings, four 5-story buildings, one 6-story building, two 7-story buildings, two 9-story buildings, one 16-story building, and one 19-story building, a total of 98 illegal buildings, were inspected in the Shwe Kuk Kol area. No one was found involved in online fraud and gambling activities, and the equipment used in the business was also taken away.

In addition, since November 18, the inspection of buildings used in online fraud in the Shwe Kuk Kol area has been underway. To date, 140 illegal buildings have been found. The seizure and sealing of these buildings are continuing to prevent their reuse. Today, 18 more illegal buildings have been seized, bringing the total number of illegal buildings to 119.

According to the total clearance operations in the Shwe Kuk Kol area, to date, a total of 1,954 foreign nationals illegally residing in Myanmar and 3,310 computers, 2,1870 mobile phones, 102 Star Link bands, 22 routers and many business equipment used in online gambling have been identified and seized. The seized items have been systematically destroyed and clearance operations will continue.

From January 30 to November 30, 2025, a total of 12,945 foreign nationals who illegally entered Myanmar were detained and all of them have been screened. Of these, 1,0029 have been systematically deported to relevant countries through Thailand in accordance with legal procedures, and the remaining 2,916 foreign nationals are ready to be transferred to relevant countries and are being well-maintained.

The government considers online gambling fraud as a national responsibility and will continue to coordinate with local forces as well as neighboring governments to ensure that it is completely eradicated from Myanmar.
