MANILA – The top 50 pizzerias in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region have just been revealed, of which four Philippine pizza restaurants are included. The APAC list, presented yesterday at the Italian Culinary Institute in Tokyo, Japan, is the first in the series of guides created by the 50 Top Pizza global program.
Among the four Philippine awardees, Crosta ranked the highest at top 5 (sharing the spot with Melbourne-based Shop225), followed by A Mano at the 7th spot (also tied with New Zealand pizzeria Dante’s Pizzeria). Crosta went down three places from its 2024 spot, while A Mano moved up five spots from their rank last year.
Wildflour Italian ranked 42nd on the list while Cebu-based pizzeria Minante Pizzeria also made it on the list at the 48th spot.
Crosta and A Mano, being among the top 13 pizzerias on the APAC list, are also automatically included in the 100 Best Pizzerias in the World list.
Late chef Margarita Forés was also honored with a tribute during the ceremony.
“The pizza movement is also in great upheaval in this part of the world,” said guide curators Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro, and Albert Sapere, in a statement. “With Australia that in recent years has made significant steps forward in terms of quality and with Singapore and Hong Kong as emerging destinations. The entire Asian continent is experiencing a period of growth in this sector and this fact presents an opportunity for Italian gastronomic culture.
“It was our wish to dedicate the Asia-Pacific 2025 ceremony to Margarita Forés, who passed away last February 11th. She was a true icon of Italian quality food abroad, who in recent years had made a significant contribution to the world of pizza.”
