YANGON – The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported that 44 people have been hospitalized due to a recent diarrhea outbreak in Yangon Region.
Among these cases, two individuals are suffering from severe diarrhea, while the remaining 42 are experiencing normal symptoms of the disease. Fortunately, all patients are currently in good condition.
The outbreak began in some townships of Yangon Region on June 25, prompting health officials to take preventive measures.
On July 6, there were 63 new cases of diarrhea, but the number of cases has since declined. The MOH is closely monitoring the situation and providing guidelines to the public, including recommendations to drink pre-boiled water, use chlorinated water, practice hygienic food preparation, and follow health advice from the Ministry of Health.
Local authorities are working in collaboration with the MOH to control and prevent further spread of the disease. The public is urged to cooperate and adhere to health warnings to help curb the outbreak.
