BJP national president JP Nadda resigns as Rajya Sabha MP

The resignation came after Nadda was elected to the upper house unopposed from Gujarat. This time the BJP nominated Nadda as it’s Rajya Sabha candidate from Gujarat since Himachal Pradesh victory was uncertain and the saffron party was not willing to take the risk.

NEW DELHI – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda has tendered his resignation as Rajya Sabha MP. Nadda was the Rajya Sabha MP from Himachal Pradesh

“Jagat Prakash Nadda, an elected Member of the Council of States (Rajya Sabha), representing the State of He was among 57 Rajya Sabha members whose tenure was ending in April., resigned his seat in the Rajya Sabha and his resignation has been accepted by the Chairman, Rajya Sabha w.e.f. 4th March, 2024,” as per an official statement from the Rajya Sabha.

The resignation came after Nadda was elected to the upper house unopposed from Gujarat. He was among the 57 Rajya Sabha MPs, whose tenure was about to end in April.

This time the BJP nominated Nadda as it’s Rajya Sabha candidate from Gujarat since Himachal Pradesh victory was uncertain and the saffron party was not willing to take the risk.
