BANGKOK – Revellers on Khaosan Road itself generated 42 tonnes of waste from Friday to Sunday (April 12-14), while areas near the road were left with another 74 tonnes.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said six water trucks and city officials were deployed to clean up this tourist attraction starting at 4am on Tuesday.
The officials found that the road was covered with powder, glass bottles, cardboard boxes, water guns and buckets, he said.
“After many people had fun [at Khaosan Road], it is our duty to clean it up,” he said. Chadchart thanked officials for their efforts to make the city clean.
