ULAANBAATAR – At the invitation of Battsetseg Batmunkh, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines Enrique A.Manalo is paying an official visit to Mongolia on August 3-6, 2024. On August 5, As part of the official visit, Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique Manalo held a meeting with Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai, the Prime Minister of Mongolia.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister of Mongolia noted that Mongolia attaches great importance to expanding relations and cooperation with the Republic of the Philippines, an important partner of Southeast Asia and an influential member of ASEAN, and intensifying mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation.

Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines Enrique A.Manalo announced that the Philippines government has decided to provide humanitarian aid to Mongolia for disaster risk reduction and coping. And L.Oyun-Erdene expressed his gratitude to the Philippine government and people for providing humanitarian aid, and expressed his willingness to cooperate in fighting climate change, reducing and overcoming disaster risks.

Furthermore, the parties discussed training English language teachers of Mongolian rural and local general education and university in the Philippines, implementation of teacher exchange programs, and cooperation in the direction of recruiting labor from the Philippines in the fields of education, tourism, and services.

L.Oyun-Erdene, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, mentioned that the Government of Mongolia is implementing “Year of Supporting Regional Development” and “Welcome to Mongolia” tourism policy, and emphasized the importance of studying the experience of the Philippines, which has consistently and successfully implemented the “Regional Development Policy”, expanding cooperation in the tourism sector, intensifying the exchange of citizens, and increasing the ties between businesses in the sector.
