Asia News Network editors gather to enhance coverage of regional news

KUALA LUMPUR – A gathering of editors from major media houses in Asia is set to enhance coverage of current affairs in the region.

The event on Wednesday (Sept 4) brought together editors from 20 news outlets, which are part of the Asia News Network (ANN).

The alliance aims to promote coverage of regional affairs through the sharing of news content among participating media houses.

Apart from Malaysia, other media outlets were from Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam.

Addressing fellow editors, Star Media Group (SMG) Bhd chief content officer Datin Paduka Esther Ng expressed hope they would enjoy their stay in Malaysia.

At the event, guests were treated to a welcome dinner during which they mingled and caught up on developments in the media industry.

Also present were SMG chief executive officer Chan Seng Fatt and Bernama chairman and SMG adviser Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai.
