HANOI – More than ten days after the devastation caused by Typhoon Yagi and its aftermath, many low-lying communes in Mỹ Đức District, Hà Nội, remain heavily submerged, severely impacting the lives of local residents.
Large areas of crops have been lost and hundreds of households, with thousands of people, have been forced to evacuate their flooded homes.
One of the major concerns is that the prolonged flooding has led to the decomposition of various organisms, causing significant environmental pollution and posing a serious risk of disease outbreaks, which could threaten the health of the community even after the water recedes.
