KATHMANDU – Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of the Nepali Army, General Ashok Raj Sigdel, held high-level discussions with his Indian counterpart, General Upendra Dwivedi, during his ongoing official visit to India.

In addition to his meeting with Dwivedi, Sigdel engaged in courtesy meetings with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and senior officials from India’s Ministries of Defence and External Affairs.

Earlier in the day, General Sigdel paid tribute to fallen soldiers at the National War Memorial and received a Guard of Honour presented by the Indian Army, symbolising the strong military ties between Nepal and India.

The visit underscores the historical and strategic relationship between the armed forces of the two neighbouring countries.

General Sigdel’s visit has taken place a few weeks after Indian Army Chief General Dwivedi visited Nepal on a five-day official visit.
