MANILA – Like the queens they are, Blackpink took over the Philippine Arena during their “Deadline” concert on Nov. 22 and 23.
Blackpink’s 2025 has been relatively quiet so far, with the South Korean girl group only coming out with one single, “Jump,” this year. Meanwhile, the quartet, since their last release, “Pink Venom,” in 2022, has been focusing on their solo projects with Jisoo’s “Amortage,” Lisa’s “Alter Ego,” Jennie’s “Ruby,” and Rosé’s “Rosie.”
Their two-hour set then ranged from intimate solo stages to breathtaking ensembles featuring Blackpink classics that made the concert one for the books.
Unconvinced? The two-day sold-out “Deadline” concert drew in roughly 100,000 fans—officially making Blackpink the highest-grossing act in Philippine Arena history.

The it girls for a reason
The set featured several Blackpink classics such as “How You Like That,” “Boombayah,” “Shut Down,” “Lovesick Girls,” and “As If It’s Your Last.”
If we had to pick our favorite moments: “Jump,” when the girls had the entire arena on their feet, and when they played “Forever Young,” the perfect track to close out day one.
But the solo stages were by themselves mini concerts that stole the show: Jisoo and her dance break in “Hugs and Kisses,” Lisa when she had the arena grooving to “When I’m With You,” Jennie when she lit the stage on fire with “Like Jennie,” and Rosé when a fan sang “APT” on stage with her.

It also made for a heartwarming moment when Rosé sang “Number one girl” despite being sick, and had the entire Philippine Arena crowd sing with her. Who cares that it wasn’t pitch perfect? She powered through the emotional track and made the arena feel the emotion behind every line.
On a lighter note, in between stages, the concert dancers put on a performance as Blackpink readied themselves for their following sets. In true Filipino fashion, cheers as loud as they would be for the girl group enveloped the Philippine Arena as the male dancers took off their shirts.
