YANGON – Yangon’s air pollution levels were ranked 4th in the world this evening, according to IQ Air.
According to IQ Air’s announcement at 5pm on February 23, it reached the 4th place in the world.
According to IQ Air, Yangon’s AQI (Air Quality Index) is at 156.
Yangon’s air quality, which was at level 11 in the afternoon, dropped to level 4 in the evening.
“”The evening is also a time when there is a lot of traffic going to and from offices, so the level is rising. You should be careful for your health,”” said a Yangon resident.
Air pollution is the deterioration of air quality due to the presence of smoke, various gases, dust, fog, odors, and water vapor in the air in greater quantities than is appropriate.
An air quality index (AQI) of zero to 50 is considered good, 50 to 100 is considered moderate, and 101 to 150 is considered unhealthy for vulnerable people.
Levels between 151 and 200 are considered unhealthy, levels between 201 and 300 are considered harmful, and levels above 301 are considered hazardous to health.
Last January, Yangon’s air quality was in the red level.
