HONG KONG – Hong Kong badminton athlete Chu Man-kai secured a gold medal at the BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2022 in Tokyo.

Chu grabbed the gold after winning over England’s Jack Shephard 20-20, 18-21, 22-20 in the men’s singles SH6 final.

Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Kevin Yeung Yun-hung congratulated Chu on winning a gold at the tournament.

“Chu Man-kai showcased his strong spirit and excellent techniques in the competition. He gave his best to score good results. We are so glad and very proud of his great performance,” he said in a statement.
