CHONGQING – A large abandoned mine pit in Ziyou village of Chongqing’s Banan district that was converted into a scenic spot recently attracted flooding tourists thanks to dazzling canola flowers.

With temperatures on the rise and the land being nourished by spring rains, the massive site has evolved into a golden sea of flowers.

The transformation is a testament to the community’s commitment to sustainable development. In recent years, the local government has initiated various projects to revitalize mines. Activities such as land leveling, introducing water sources and planting flowers have improved the ecological landscape of mining areas and contributed to the sustainable development of the local economy.
