SINGAPORE – The Asia News Network has announced that applications are now open for its 2026-2028 journalism fellowship programme, which aims to build a Malay news network.
This fellowship was launched in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), a German think-tank that helped to establish ANN. The program invites young journalists not older than 35 years and residing in Indonesia or Malaysia to submit their applications no later than March 31, 2026.
Successful candidates will be responsible for coordinating ways to establish the Malay news network and will work with ANN senior editors in a virtual newsroom on content focused on people and happenings in Asia. The fellowship program is expected “to promote independent, responsible and ethical journalism in the region.
ANN was established in 1999 by nine media organizations in the region. Its members now include 20 leading media titles from 10 Southeast Asian countries, as well as several other locations in East and South Asia. ANN’s coverage extends from geopolitics, defence and security to economics and trade, as well as lifestyle and entertainment reporting.
