Medicines, medical supplies from mainland China given out in Hong Kong

Supplies from the mainland have been arriving in batches, including some 10 million N95 and KN95 masks as well as rapid antigen test kits.

The scheme aims to provide accommodation to isolate people who test positive for COVID-19 but have no or mild symptoms.

The temporary testing laboratory is expected to raise the city's daily virus testing capacity from 200,000 to 300,000.

The decision comes as the city battles a raging fifth wave of coronavirus infections fueled mainly by the Omicron variant.

Existing prepaid SIM card users have also have to complete the registration with the respective operators by Feb 23, 2023.

Secretary for Security Tang Ping-keung said the government seeks to table the bill to the Legislative Council in the second half of 2022.

As of Jan 22, a total of 2,512 animals, including 2,229 hamsters, were “humanely dispatched,” a spokesman said.

The Education Bureau said the measure applies to kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, as well as tutorial schools.

The IMF also noted that Hong Kong's economy has recovered strongly with the support of swift and bold policy responses.

These places include the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Germany and Japan.
