Bangladesh Chief Adviser Yunus directs ministries to publicise self-initiated reforms

24 key reform proposals have already implemented, says press secretary.

DHAKA – Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has directed ministries and divisions to inform the public about reforms they have undertaken on their own initiative, in addition to those recommended by the reform commissions formed under the interim government.

He gave the instruction today while presiding over an advisory council meeting at his office, addressing all responsible officials of the ministries.

Speaking at a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said ministries are implementing a range of important reforms beyond the commission proposals. Among the first set of 121 reform proposals submitted, 77 were identified as highly important, of which 24 have already been implemented and the rest are underway.

At the meeting, the chief adviser gave in-principle and final approval to the Election Commission Secretariat (Amendment) Ordinance 2025 and the Election Officer (Special Provisions) (Amendment) Ordinance 2025.

The draft of several financial laws (second amendment) ordinance, 2025 was also approved.
