DHAKA – Apparel exports, which typically account for more than 84 percent of the country’s annual export earnings, also declined by 14.23 percent year-on-year to $3.23 billion during the month, according to data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) released today.

Despite the year-on-year fall, export earnings in December rose 1.97 percent compared with November, signalling a modest month-on-month recovery.

In a statement, the EPB said the increase reaffirmed a degree of stability in export momentum amid a challenging global environment.

During the first half of fiscal year 2025–26 (July-December), total export earnings stood at $23.99 billion, down 2.19 percent from $24.53 billion in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
