Brunei Crown Prince welcomes Timor-Leste Prime Minister

This marks Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão’s third official visit to Brunei Darussalam, following his previous official visits in 2014 and 2017.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office as Personal Representative of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, on Sunday afternoon welcomed the arrival of Prime Minister of Timor-Leste Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão and delegation, who are in Brunei Darussalam for a three-day official visit.

Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin was also present as Minister-in-Attendance.

Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Brunei Darussalam Abel Guterres was also in attendance at the Brunei International Airport.

The Official Welcoming Ceremony began with the national anthems of both countries. The prime minister of Timor-Leste then proceeded to inspect the guard of honour mounted by members of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

The prime minister of Timor-Leste was then introduced to Cabinet ministers; deputy ministers; the commissioner of police of the Royal Brunei Police Force; the commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces; foreign envoys in Brunei Darussalam; and permanent secretaries from the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah was then introduced to the official delegation of Timor-Leste.
