BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – The Ministry of Education (MoE) has warned the public of fraudulent activities involving fake purchase orders and individuals impersonating ministry officials.
In a statement issued Thursday, the ministry said scammers have been falsifying official Purchase Orders (PO) and using the ministry’s identity to deceive suppliers and business owners.
The ministry stressed that purchase orders, payment requests and financial instructions are never issued through unofficial communication channels.
Members of the public who receive suspicious requests, payment instructions or documents purportedly linked to the ministry are advised to verify their authenticity through the ministry’s official channels before taking any action.

The ministry urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid entering into agreements or making financial transactions without prior confirmation from the authorities.
Any suspicious documents or fraudulent activities should be reported immediately to the relevant authorities.
The MoE said it takes seriously any misuse of the ministry’s identity for fraudulent purposes and urged victims or individuals with information related to the scam to lodge a report with the Royal Brunei Police Force.
