The programme was held yesterday at the halls of Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Secondary School and was attended by 158 Year 8 students.
Also present were the school’s Deputy Principal of Administration Hamdani bin Abu Bakar and members of the teaching staff.
The briefing was delivered by Head of the International Affairs Desk, Corporate Relations Unit, Eddy Iswandy bin Haji Ismail, and aimed to instil awareness among students of their role as part of the ASEAN community, in line with the ASEAN motto: One Vision, One Identity, One Community.
Students also took part in a Kenali ASEAN quiz, with prizes presented by the school principal.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to foster a greater understanding of ASEAN, while promoting patriotism, unity, and appreciation of ASEAN’s purpose and functions.
It also strengthens ties between the Information Department and the community, particularly among young students.
In addition, the programme seeks to nurture future generations who will uphold national continuity and play a vital role in shaping the country’s development in the years ahead. – Daniel Lim
