BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam arrived in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Monday night to hold a courtesy visit to President of the Senate of Cambodia Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
Upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, the monarch was welcomed by the President of the Senate of Cambodia and Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service Hun Many.
Also present to greet His Majesty was Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Cambodia Pengiran Kasmirhan bin Pengiran Haji Tahir. His Majesty then attended a breakfast, hosted by the President of the Senate of Cambodia at the Rosewood Phnom Penh Hotel yesterday.
The courtesy visit highlights the close and long-standing relations between the leaders of the Sultanate and Cambodia in hopes the close ties will serve as a catalyst in achieving shared well-being and prosperity.
Also present at the event were Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Hun Many and Cambodian Head of General Department of Research and Intelligence at the Ministry of National Defence Lieutenant General Hun Manith.
Accompanying His Majesty at the breakfast was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
His Majesty then left Phnom Penh, marking the conclusion of the courtesy visit yesterday.
A Doa Selamat was recited by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.
Prior to departure from Phnom Penh International Airport, His Majesty was bade farewell by the President of the Senate of Cambodia and deputy prime minister.
Also present at the airport was the Brunei ambassador to Cambodia.
