BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – A total of 103 participants, comprising students and teachers from Belait Arabic School (SAB), banded together to clean the beachfront surrounding Silver Jubilee Park as part of the school’s ‘Maritah Membersih Pantai’ beach cleaning campaign.

The campaign was organised by the SAB Green Revolutionaries (Unit 2K) and aimed to foster environmental awareness in line with the school’s mission to promote green practices and sustainability.

A total of 311 kilogrammes of garbage was collected by the group. The collected waste included plastic bottles and fishing nets, which were properly disposed of at the end of the campaign.

The presence of such waste served as a subtle reminder to participants, especially young students, of the abundance of marine debris floating in oceans worldwide and its negative impact on marine life.

The campaign was also part of efforts to create a ‘Green School’ and nurture a new generation of students who will become ‘Waste Heroes’ in promoting environmentally-friendly practices and sustainability.
