MANILA – It’s been a long wait for Filipino fans (or Armys), and finally, BTS is coming to the Philippines for their world tour in March 2027.

The K-pop powerhouse is returning to Manila for their world tour on March 13 to 14, 2027, as announced by BigHit Music on the group’s social media platforms, marking their first time in the country after 10 years.

The world tour will kick off at the Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi, South Korea, in April 2026. They will also visit Japan, the United States, Mexico, London, Germany, France, Canada, Brazil, Taiwan, and Thailand, among many other stops.

The last time the “ON” hitmakers were in the country as a seven-member group was the “Wings” tour in May 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

J-Hope visited the Philippines for his two-day “Hope on the Stage” concert in April 2025, much to the overwhelming excitement of his fans.

The seven-member group is preparing for a grand comeback beginning with the release of their fifth studio album in March. According to BigHit, it contains 14 songs that hold “special meaning” to the members.

“We are excited to share some details about the release of ‘BTS The 5th Album,’ and the start of their world tour. The new album holds special significance as it marks the first album released by the group in three years and nine months, while also indicating the direction the group will take going forward,” the agency said.

Back on the map

Since BTS’s upcoming concert marks their first time back in the country after a 10-year wait, Filipino fans were overjoyed to see the Philippines on the map. On X (formerly Twitter), keywords such as “Manila,” “Philippines,” “NAIIYAK AKO (I’m crying),” and “UY PILIPINS” made it to its Trends list.

Fans were also emotional with the announcement, with many saying that they’ve been dreaming about the group’s return.

BTS debuted in June 2013 with the single album “No More Dream,” which also contains the title track “No More Dream.” Also known as Bangtan Boys, the group rose as the biggest K-pop group and one of the leading forces in the Hallyu wave.

Composed of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, the septet has often created their own music and choreography, with songs that talk about mental health, coming-of-age, and social issues. /cb
