PHNOM PENH – Cambodian billiards legend Sruong Pheavy has brought more fame for Cambodia with another victory in her favoured two-cushion carom event, this time at the February 11 round of the 2024 Ladies Professional Billiards Association Championship, held in South Korea.
The event saw 32 outstanding billiards athletes competing, with the Kingdom’s number-one ranked player fighting her way through to the final, where she claimed her seventh win of the tour.
Pheavy’s final match was against South Korean Jung-suk Lim. She was facing a 5-0 losing scoreline after the first few frames, but held her composure to fight back to a 9-5 lead. The final frame saw her earn two points, while Lim was only able to muster a single point.
The match ended 11-6 to Pheavy, making her the champion.
The Cambodian representative and 2023 SEA Games medallists expressed her happiness at the victory, her seventh win in the LPBA Championship.

Pheavy took to social media to share her feelings and try to articulate how hard she had fought for the win.
“My body hurts, and I have a headache. I can say that I used all my strength this time, along with my most careful strategy. I think I will need to take a few days to recover and get back to normal,” she said.
She shared how proud she was that her dedication to the sport had paid off so handsomely, describing the victory as “priceless”.
“In order to be able to raise the prestige and pride – as well as the courageous spirit – of being Cambodian, I dedicated all my physical and mental strength to winning. I owe my gratitude to my Khmer ancestors, and I am determined to repay them for the rich legacy they have left me,” she added.
