The talks comes as Hun Sen prepares for a much-anticipated visit to the country on Jan 7 in a bid to bring it back to the ASEAN fold.

Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Sen will visit Myanmar on Friday and Saturday in an effort to defuse the crisis.
A spokesman said that since the 2019 retreat, both countries had extensive discussions on airspace management and military training.
Foreign minister Prak Sokhonn said that restoring Asean would require sorting out Myanmar’s issues with representation at its meetings.
He also highlighted how Vietnam proposed many initiatives and made substantive contributions to the UNSC’s work during its tenure.
The political trust between the two parties and countries continued to be enhanced with many delegation exchanges and high-level contacts.
Hun Sen also thanked the Japanese government and people for providing aid to Cambodia, especially the Covid-19 vaccines.
