Solution to Covid-19 bed crisis? Korea sets up clinics for self-isolating patients

While Covid-19 patients are homebound as a rule, they can now break isolation on one occasion - to see a doctor.

Hun Sen reiterated the call in a Facebook post accompanied by pictures of himself and his wife receiving the booster shots.

These places include the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Germany and Japan.

Tokyo also confirmed 2,198 new infections on the day, topping 2,000 for the first time in four months.

The country is currently dealing with aggressive increases in infections following the holidays with 208,164 having Covid-19.

The number of infections has not grown exponentially in recent days, indicating Hong Kong has succeeded in reining in the recent outbreak.

The move is partly based on concerns that it will be difficult to provide medical services if doctors and nurses are identified as close contacts.

Under the house-to-house lockdown policy, the entire household with a Covid-positive member is prohibited to leave their residence.

Campaigners have praised regulations that allow animals to be isolated with their owners and are now calling for further regulations.

Bangladesh reported its first two cases of Omicron on December 9. The number has now gone up to 30.
