YANGON – Chinese President Xi Jinping said that relations with Myanmar are an important part of China’s neighboring diplomatic relations.

Chinese President Xi Jinping made the remarks during a meeting with Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing in Beijing, China, on June 16.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China attaches great importance to relations with Myanmar in its neighboring diplomatic relations, and supports the new Myanmar government in integrating development and security, and seeking a correct development path that is in line with Myanmar’s conditions and supported by the people.

In addition, Xi said during his meeting with Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing that the two countries should steadily promote the construction of major projects under a secure security environment, and support Myanmar’s economic development and people’s livelihoods, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Similarly, Chinese President Xi Jinping continued to say that the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor is a flagship project of the Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries.
