KUALA LUMPUR – Coldplay posted a recap video on X of their concert at Bukit Jalil recently.
The 43-second video starts with a still of Batu Caves, the Petronas Twin Towers and then the KL Tower before transitioning to Stadium Bukit Jalil, where the band performed on Wednesday (Nov 22).
As the song “Higher Power” plays in the background, the video continues with clips of fans and the band braving the rain to enjoy the show.
The clip also focused on several fans smiling gleefully, with some holding home-made posters.
It was reported that the British rock band delivered a captivating two-hour performance on Wednesday night despite the rain.
The KL gig, which was part of the group’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour, marked Coldplay’s first concert in the country since its debut in 1997.
Coldplay took the stage at 9pm, hyping some 75,000 people in attendance with 25 songs.
In addition to opening up a melodic time capsule with classics like The Scientist, Viva La Vida and Fix You, the Grammy-winning band also presented recent bops such as Higher Power, My Universe, Human Heart and Biutyful.
The band also paid a heartfelt tribute to a late fan during its first National Stadium Bukit Jalil concert in Kuala Lumpur.
The band dedicated a set to Jade Mikayla John, one of their fans who passed away two weeks before the concert, by performing her favourite song, Sparks, while showcasing a photo of her on the jumbotron.
Frontman Chris Martin conveyed the band’s appreciation for Jade during the set: “We played that song for our friend Jade who couldn’t be here today. We send all our love to Jade’s family. Thank you.”
