NAYPYIDAW – A drug trafficking gang was arrested in Pyay Gyi Takun Township with 11 kilograms of heroin worth over 7.3 billion kyats and over 4.6 million methamphetamine pills.
A drug trafficking gang was arrested in Pyay Gyi Takun Township, Mandalay, with 11 kilograms of heroin worth over 7.3 billion kyats and more than 4.6 million methamphetamine pills, according to a press release from CCDAC MYANMAR.
At 5:30 p.m. on February 1, a joint team of members of the Narcotics Control Police were waiting for a tip-off that a drug deal was being made between 53rd, 142nd and 143rd Streets in Pyay Gyi Takun Township, Mandalay. They arrested Zaw Min Naing and Zin Ko Ko Lwin with a light truck, a motorcycle and 11 kilos of heroin.
Then, according to the chain of events, officials arrested Ma Kyawt Kay Khaing (b) Nan Mwe Liang, who was a broker in the heroin trade with a 10% commission fee, at the corner of 78th and 115th streets in Pyay Gyi Ta Khun Township, and his accomplices, Aik Sai, at the corner of 72(A) streets, 117th and 118th streets with 200 ecstasy pills, and Khun Myat (b) Naw Naw and Sai Thein Myat (b) Sai Lay with a PRADO vehicle at the corner of 151st and 71(A) streets.
According to their investigation, Sai Aik Yon, who was forced to sell heroin, was arrested at his house between 112(B), 50th and 51st Streets with 25 grams of opium. According to his investigation, 46.94 million ecstasy pills were seized from a warehouse between 61st, 124th and 125th Streets.
According to the investigation, Ko Aung rented a warehouse between 61st, 124th and 125th Streets in Pyay Gyi Ta Khun Township, with the plan of Wan Hai Nay Aik Pang, in Kyethi Township, Shan State (South), and had the drugs stored there. Sai Moon (b) Sai Mon Law and Sai Aik Yon paid a 10% brokerage fee to Ma Kyawt Kay Khaing (b) Nan Mwe Liang to trade the drugs. Aik Sai, Khun Myat (b) Naw Naw and Sai Thein Myat (b) Sai Lay were identified as the main traffickers and receivers of the proceeds from the sale of drugs.
According to a press release from CCDAC MYANMAR, 11 kilograms of heroin, 46.942 million ecstasy pills, and 25 grams of opium were seized, along with 3 vehicles and 1 motorcycle used in the drug trade, with a total value of over 7.3 billion kyats.
Members of the drug trafficking gang have been prosecuted according to the law, and investigations are continuing to identify those who committed the crime.
