YANGON – Drugs worth about 11.7 billion kyats were seized in Natmauk Township, which was intended to be delivered to a township commander of the AA in Ann Township, Rakhine State.
On April 4, 2026, after receiving a tip-off that drugs were being transported from Yamethin Township to Padang Township, security forces conducted an operation to arrest the accused. They seized a TOYOTA PRADO vehicle with the accused Myo Min Aung at the Ywataw checkpoint in Natmauk Township, and a Htaw Laji vehicle driven by the accused Min Min Khaing and accompanied by Hlaing Win near Sai Kaung Village in Natmauk Township. They seized 7.8 million ecstasy pills worth 11.7 billion kyats from 39 bags of ecstasy pills covered with lime bags in the vehicle.
In the incident, 3 male suspects, 2 vehicles, 7.8 million ecstasy pills (1,500 kyats per pill), and an estimated value of 11.7 billion kyats were seized.
According to the statements of the arrested suspects, the suspect who is yet to be arrested, Kyaw Win Aung (b) Pa O (remaining) from Tijit Village, Pin Laung Township, had the drugs in Wan Hai area transported to near Bon Yua Village, Kalaw Township by his own plan.
