YANGON – The first day of the first regular session of the third National Assembly will begin on March 18, and the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly will be held.
The first day of the first regular session of the Third National Assembly will include the election of the Speaker, taking the Chair’s seat, taking the Chair’s oath, signing the oath, and delivering the Chair’s greetings.
Then, the National Assembly representatives will take and sign the oath, declare the quorum and the commencement of the meeting, request leave for any representatives who cannot attend, and obtain the decision of the National Assembly.
After that, the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, their swearing-in before the Chairman, and the signing of the oath-taking document will be carried out.
Then, the Speaker of the National Assembly will hand over responsibilities, deliver a speech, and adjourn the first day of the third regular session, announcing the date and time for the second day of the session.
The first day of the first regular session of the third Pyithu Hluttaw began on March 16, and U Khin Yi was elected as the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw and U Maung Maung Ohn as the Vice Speaker.
