KUALA LUMPUR – Mui Kai Ming, the brother of late Hong Kong singer Anita Mui, recently went to the hospital to visit his mother but was denied entry by the staffs, HK01 reported.

Last month, Kai Ming was admitted to the Ruttonjee Hospital in Wan Chai after losing consciousness while working at a restaurant.

After being discharged on Tuesday (April 4), he immediately took a taxi to St Paul’s Hospital in Causeway Bay, claiming that his mother had asked him to visit.

Upon his arrival around 2pm, Kai Ming made several calls to his mother but to no avail. He alleged that his number had been blocked by his mother’s caregiver, whom he previously accused of prohibiting his mum from contacting him.

When Kai Ming attempted to enter the hospital, he was stopped by security personnel. According to reports, a patient service manager from the hospital said they had already confirmed with his mother that she didn’t want to see Kai Ming and told him to leave.

But the latter refused to believe this. Using the excuse of having an appointment with a doctor and wanting to use a bathroom, Kai Ming said he managed to get to the ward his mother was admitted in.

When he asked a nurse where he could find his mother however, the nurse said: “There is no such person.”

Angered by the response, Kai Ming called the police, claiming that the hospital was “imprisoning her”.

While waiting for authorities to sort things out, Kai Ming complained to the reporters present about the hospital’s “unreasonable behaviour”.

He told the press that he had not seen his mother in two years and felt compelled to visit her this time as she had personally reached out to him. He also insisted that he wouldn’t leave until he’s allowed to see his mother or until the caregiver speaks to him.

About an hour later, HK01 reported that the police finally settled things with the hospital and confirmed that Mui’s mother was indeed recuperating in the ward.

They told Kai Ming that she was safe and in good spirits. However, she didn’t want anyone to visit at the time being as she was still recovering.

The police apparently also told him that his mother does care for him and that she will see him once she fully recovers.

Kai Ming left the hospital after being persuaded by the police and said that he felt relieved his mum was doing fine.
