HONG KONG – The second installment of consumption vouchers under Phase II has been disbursed to about 6.36 million eligible people on Saturday.
In a statement, a spokesman for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s government said the e-vouchers were disbursed via six stored value facility operators – AlipayHK, BoC Pay, Octopus, PayMe from HSBC, Tap & Go and WeChat Pay HK.
Among them, eligible residents who are entitled to vouchers worth a total of HK$5,000 received the first (HK$2,000) voucher in August. If they use Octopus to collect the voucher, the second voucher of HK$2,000 will be disbursed today, the spokesman said.

“Eligible persons who collect the voucher using the other five e-wallets will receive the second voucher of HK$3,000 today,” the spokesman added.
They will receive the SMS notifications or mobile app push notifications on the disbursement today.
The spokesman said that with the first voucher disbursed in early August and the second voucher disbursed on Saturday, the eligible persons who collect the voucher through Octopus have been disbursed with a total of HK$4,000 vouchers. “If their cumulative total ‘eligible spending’ has reached HK$4,000 by end November, the remaining HK$1,000 voucher will be disbursed on December 16 the earliest,” the spokesman said.
Their “eligible spending” has to reach HK$4,000 by March 31, 2023 the latest so as to collect the last HK$1,000 voucher by tapping the card on April 16.
For people who collect the voucher through the other five e‑wallets, their HK$2,000 voucher received in early August and the HK$3,000 voucher received on Saturday will expire simultaneously on Feb 28, 2023.
“They may use the vouchers according to their consumption pattern before the expiry date,” according to the spokesman.
