In Bangladesh, tiger dies jumping off truck ‘while being trafficked’

Wildlife conservationist AHM Kamruzzaman said he went to the office and found the injured tiger in an iron cage. The female tiger, around a year old, died around 12:40pm, Sunday, he said.

BENAPOLE – A tiger died of injuries after it jumped off a moving truck while allegedly being trafficked in Keshabpur upazila of Jashore yesterday.

The incident took place in front of the livestock office on Hospital Road in the town last morning.

On information, Asaduzzaman, a gardener at the Keshabpur UNO office, brought the injured tiger to the local forest department office, said Forest Officer Samiron Biswas.

Wildlife conservationist AHM Kamruzzaman said he went to the office and found the injured tiger in an iron cage.

The female tiger, around a year old, died around 12:40pm, he said.

Forest officials said they are looking into the incident.
