NEW DELHI – Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged irregularities in the October 2024 Haryana elections, claiming a plan was put in place to convert the Congress party’s victory into the BJP’s.
Addressing a press conference here, Rahul Gandhi said today’s event is about the ‘H’ Files (Hydrogen Bomb) that he had promised and how an entire state was stolen from the Congress party.
“We will speak about Haryana and go into the details of what has happened there. All opinion polls and exit polls had pointed to a Congress victory… postal ballots as well. It was clear that it was a massive sweep. But the final result was different. For the first time in Haryana, the electoral victory and postal votes were different from the actual voting,” Gandhi told the media.
‘Brazilian model as voter’
The Congress MP claimed that one in eight voters in the Haryana electoral list was fake. Rahul further alleged that there was a theft of 25 lakh votes in Haryana, there were 1.24 lakh voters with fake photos in the state electoral list, 5.21 lakh duplicate voters, 93,174 invalid voters and 19.26 lakh bulk voters.
Playing a photo on the screen, Gandhi asked, “Who is this lady? What is her name? Where does she come from? But she votes 22 times in Haryana, at 10 different booths, and has multiple names: Seema, Sweety, Saraswati, Rashmi, Vilma… But turns out she is actually a Brazilian model.”
Providing further evidence, the MP claimed that one person had 223 votes in two booths with the same photo in Haryana.
“A woman appears 223 times in the polling and can vote any number of times she wants. The Election Commission has the data of how many times she voted. This is the reason the EC destroyed the CCTV footage,” he alleged.
He asked why is the Election Commission not removing ‘duplicate’ voters from the electoral list even though it has the software to do so.
Haryana CM Saini’s ‘vyavasta’ remark
During the presser, the Congress also played a video of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini who had told the press two days before the state election results in October last year: “I have been saying that the BJP is going to make a one-sided government. We have made all arrangements.”
Rahul then asked what arrangements was the BJP leader Saini was sure of.
“We are pretty sure that a plan was put in motion to convert Congress’s landslide victory (in Haryana) into a loss. Now, please notice the smile on his (Haryana CM) face. And please notice the word ‘vyavasta.’ What exactly is the Chief Minister of Haryana talking about? This is two days after the election. When everybody is saying that the Congress party is sweeping the election, when every indicator is that the Congress party is going to win, all the polls, all the exit polls are saying it, and this gentleman is very sure and is smiling that the BJP has some ‘vyavasta’ that is going to show itself.”
The Congress leader also claimed that thousands of people associated with the BJP had cast their votes both in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
He further accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of lying to the people of India on claims made about homeless people. “The Chief Election Commissioner is lying to the people of India openly on claims made about homeless people,” Rahul said, adding systematic methods have been adopted by the Prime Minister and the poll panel to ‘kill’ the Constitution and Indian democracy.
Rahul further urged the youth of India to closely watch what he was revealing today. He also questioned the Election Commission and alleged that the future of Gen Z was being ‘destroyed’ by vote chori.
“I want the young people of India, Gen Z, to understand this clearly. Because this is about your future. Your future is being destroyed. So it’s important that you listen and you watch. I’m questioning the Election Commission and the democratic process in India. So I’m doing it with 100 per cent proof,” he said.
