SINGAPORE – Singapore’s famed destination Gardens by the Bay was recently named the eighth-best attraction in the world by users of the travel site Tripadvisor, but that is not all.

According to research done by British tour operator and travel site Titan Travel, over 1.2 million posts on Instagram feature the hashtag Gardens by the Bay, making it the most popular and photographed flower gardens on the platform.

Titan Travel released its findings on its site in June to name the world’s prettiest flower gardens, by amassing data based on Google searches, Instagram and TikTok tags, Tripadvisor scores and reviews that mention the word “beautiful”.

While Titan Travel named the US’ Longwood Gardens, Japan’s Shinjuku Gyoen and New Zealand’s Pukekura Park as the three most beautiful gardens of the world, the Singapore Botanic Gardens was seventh, while Gardens by the Bay placed eighth.

While it was not named the prettiest, it was certainly the most popular – Gardens by the Bay has been tagged more than 1.2 million times on Instagram.

This makes it the most photographed garden on Instagram globally, beating London’s Unesco World Heritage site Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and Tokyo’s Shinjuku Gyoen – which both have over 700,000 posts under their hashtags on Instagram.

According to Titan Travel, Gardens by the Bay is the only garden to have over one million dedicated Instagram posts. It has also been tagged more than 27,500 times on TikTok.

The garden is known for its two cooled conservatories – Cloud Forest and Flower Dome. Cloud Forest is home to one of the world’s tallest indoor waterfalls, while Flower Dome is the largest glass greenhouse globally.

It is also loved for its 18 Supertrees, which are vertical gardens up to 50m tall. The Supertree Grove has a nightly light and sound show too.
