NEW DELHI – Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s trip to India next week has been postponed since has tested positive for Covid-19.
According to Israeli Ambassador to India Naor Gilon, ”The visit has been postponed and will be rescheduled. We are working with our Indian partners on another date as part of the celebrations of 30 years of diplomatic relations between the (two) countries as well as 75 years of India’s independence.”
He said; ”Israel will continue to strengthen its robust friendship and growing partnership with the people of India.”
Bennett had tested positive on Sunday evening and since then his much-anticipated trip to India appeared doubtful.
He was scheduled to be here from 3-5 April to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top Indian leaders. India and Israel were expected to sign a series of major agreements during the trip.
