DHAKA – Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today lowered jet fuel (Jet A-1) prices for both domestic and international carriers.
For domestic airlines, the price has been lowered to Tk 130.99 per litre from Tk 150.21. For international carriers, the rate has been fixed at $0.8556 per litre, down from $0.9808.
The new prices will take effect from Wednesday (July 8, 2026) 12:00am, BERC Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Sarkar confirmed.
BERC said the revised rates were determined based on the average Platts Rate between June 5 and July 4, 2026.
The decision followed a proposal from Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL), and was finalised after a public hearing held under sections 34(4) and 34(6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003.
During the hearing, the commission considered the detailed Platts Rate for Jet A-1 fuel as well as the US dollar exchange rate used in settling Letters of Credit (LC) for BPC. The new rates will apply for the month of July.
