DHAKA – Kangana Ranaut has announced the postponement of the release of her directorial feature film, “Emergency”. The film was initially scheduled to hit screens on November 24 this year but has now been rescheduled for a 2024 release.
Taking to her social media platform, Kangana Ranaut explained that the decision to postpone “Emergency” was due to an already packed schedule for the final quarter of 2023, resulting in the need to shift the release date.
In her message to fans and followers, Kangana expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the tremendous response that the film’s teaser and other promotional materials received, emphasising the personal significance of “Emergency” in her artistic journey.
The film, which explores the life of India’s first female Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, marks a significant trajectory in Kangana’s career. The decision to delay the release is a strategic one, allowing more time for preparation and ensuring the film’s debut to be as impactful as envisioned.
In her earlier statement, Kangana Ranaut shared her deep commitment to “Emergency”, even revealing that she had mortgaged her property to fund the project. The film boasts a stellar cast, including Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, late Satish Kaushik, and Shreyas Talpade, and is written by Ritesh Shah – the screenwriter of Kangana’s previous film, “Dhaakad”.
