Metro Manila Christmas rush: Over 100,000 passengers flock to PITX on Dec. 21

According to Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), the majority of the passengers were bound for Bicol, adding that 40 percent of the trips to the region this Sunday are already fully booked.

MANILA – More than 100,000 passengers flocked to the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) on Sunday, Dec. 21, to travel to their respective hometowns, four days before Christmas Day.

In a Viber message, PITX Corporate and Government Relations head Jason Salvador said a total of 106,293 passengers were recorded at the terminal as of 2 p.m.

This includes passengers arriving and departing from Metro Manila.

According to PITX, the majority of the passengers were bound for Bicol, adding that 40 percent of the trips to the region this Sunday are already fully booked.

On Friday, December 19, a total of 186,231 passengers traveled through the PITX, while on Saturday, December 20, a total of 200,153 were recorded at the terminal.

PITX recently said over three million passengers are expected to travel during the Christmas and New Year break, or from December 19, 2025 to January 5, 2026.
