BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – In a unique digital tribute to Brunei Darussalam’s National Day, players of Planet Brunei Reborn (PBR), the country’s longest-running Minecraft server, recreated iconic Bruneian landmarks in the game, showcasing creativity, national pride, and personal stories.

The initiative, launched in mid-January, invited participants to select meaningful landmarks and reconstruct them in the server’s Survival-SMP environment. Beyond architectural accuracy, players shared personal connections to their chosen sites, turning each build into a tribute to Brunei’s heritage. Contributors were rewarded with in-game currency and ranks for their efforts.

Among the standout creations was Menara Cendera Kenangan in Kuala Belait, built by player Danialhandsome. “The Menara Cendera Kenangan is not just a landmark seen from afar, but a monument to memory,” he said. “I visited the real tower with my grandparents long ago. Time has passed, and they are no longer with me, but the feeling of standing there together has never faded.” His build faithfully captured the tower’s copper-topped spire, purple dome, and stone base.

Another ambitious project saw a team led by Sub7PewDiePie12, alongside HerbsXShurbs, Owolettes, Jian and other supporters, recreate Brunei International Airport in Bandar Seri Begawan. The build featured detailed exterior architecture, landscaped grounds, and interiors including check-in counters, departure lounges, signage, and retail spaces. “I built this airport in Minecraft to show appreciation for Brunei aviation in my own way,” Sub7PewDiePie12 said.

The National Day initiative reflects PBR’s ongoing mission to foster community engagement through creative expression. By blending gaming with cultural appreciation, the server has become a space where players can celebrate Brunei’s landmarks, history, and identity.

Since its relaunch in 2022, Planet Brunei Reborn has grown to over 2,000 registered players, hosting regular community events that connect Minecraft enthusiasts across Brunei and Southeast Asia.
