YANGON – It is reported that more than 250,000 students took the Burmese language exam on the first day of the 2026 university entrance exam.
The number of students registered to take the Myanmar language subject on the first day of the 2026 university entrance examination in districts, townships, examination centers, and foreign examination centers in regions and states including the Nay Pyi Taw Council area is 112,191 male and 156,562 female, totaling 268,753, in 105 districts, 266 townships, and 887 examination centers.
Of those registered, 104,259 male students and 150,969 female students, a total of 255,228, took the exam, resulting in a response rate of 94.97 percent.
Similarly, on the first day of the entrance examination for the University of Industry, Agriculture, and Livestock, the number of students registered to take the Burmese language subject in 41 districts, 50 townships, and 53 examination centers was 2005 students and 1381 girls, a total of 3386. The number of students who took the exam was 1992 students and 1372 girls, a total of 3364, according to the Ministry of Education. The percentage of students who took the exam was 99.35 percent.
