PETALING JAYA – Khairy Jamaluddin has hinted that his next political move will be influenced by the “personal” attacks made against him by members of both Umno and Pakatan Harapan.
Khairy, who has remained coy over his political future since his sacking from Umno in January, said that Perikatan Nasional on the other hand had remained neutral towards him.
“On a personal note, they don’t really say anything bad about me but if you see the comments from people in Umno and Pakatan, it’s not just fair criticism. It’s personal until today.
“That, on a psychological level, has a strong bearing on what I might do or what I might not do,” he said in an episode of the “Keluar Sekejap” podcast.
The former Umno Youth chief had tried to position himself as an “Umno reformist” during the general election last year, claiming that the party had lost its way.
He was then expelled from the party for allegedly acting against the party’s interests in January.
Believing in Khairy’s potential to be a great asset to his party, Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin publicly offered Khairy a seat on the party’s supreme council on May 17.
