YANGON – The Myanmar high-level delegation led by the Chairman of the State Executive Council and Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing arrived at the Banukabe International Airport in Moscow, Russian Federation, at approximately 4:15 p.m. local time today (April 7).
They were welcomed by Mr. Andrey Rudenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and officials, U Thit Lin Ohn, Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation, and Brigadier General Kyaw Soe Oo, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy, Air Force).
In the welcoming ceremony, the State Honor Guard of the Russian Federation also lined the aisle on either side, providing a state welcome.
At the invitation of the President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Putin, the delegation departed from Nay Pyi Taw Military Airport by special plane this morning (May 7) to attend the military parade to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 to be held in the Russian Federation.
In Myanmar, they were sent off by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Deputy Prime Minister, Vice Senior General Soe Win and his wife, Daw Than Than Nwe, the Secretary of the Council, General Aung Lin Dwey and his wife, members of the Council, Union Ministers, the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers and their wives from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence, the Commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Regional Command, officials from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Myanmar, and the Military Embassy.
The Chairman of the State Executive Council, the Prime Minister and his wife, were accompanied on the trip by the Council’s Joint Secretary, General Ye Win Oo and his wife, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Defence, General Maung Maung Aye, Dr. Ba Shwe and Khun San Lwin, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs, U Than Swe, Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy, Air) General Kyaw Swar Lin and his wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, deputy ministers, military and regional officials.
During the visit, the Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Executive Council, will attend the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and related ceremonies, and will hold separate meetings and discussions with those attending the ceremony. During the goodwill visit, the two governments and people will further strengthen the friendship, economic, security and strategic cooperation in all sectors.
Similarly, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, the wife of the Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Executive Council, will also hold talks with Mrs. Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, and Ms. Anna Nesterova, Chairperson of the BRICS and Women’s Business Alliance in the Russian Federation.
