Myanmar leader Min Aung Hlaing, Russian President Vladimir Putin meet at the Kremlin

Issues discussed include those related to bilateral investment and enhancing bilateral cooperation.

YANGON – Chairman of the State Executive Council and Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a state-level goodwill visit to Russia, met with President of the Russian Federation Mr. Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow this evening (March 4) local time.

First, the President of the Russian Federation welcomed the Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Administrative Council, and held separate meetings.

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Executive Council, Joint Secretary of the Council, General Ye Win Oo, Council members, General Nyo Saw, Union Ministers U Than Swe, General Moe Aung, Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation U Thit Lin Ohn, and the President of the Russian Federation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation for Foreign Policy, the Minister of Industry and Trade, and officials and heads of government.

During the meeting, HE Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, expressed his pleasure at meeting him for the second time. He said that the visit of the Prime Minister of the State has brought great benefits to the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. During this visit, agreements on bilateral cooperation will be signed. Trade between the two countries has also improved more than before. Our two countries are also cooperating on the international front. He would like to express his pleasure at this meeting in Moscow and extend his welcome remarks.

Then, the Chairman of the State Executive Council, the Prime Minister, expressed his gratitude for the meeting in Moscow. He said that this was the second time that they had met at the 7th Far East Economic Forum. Russia is a good and old friend of Myanmar, and although they are distant, they are friendly countries. The two countries have lived side by side since ancient times. The diplomatic relations between the two countries have been established for 77 years. This meeting is very beneficial for our two countries, and he would like to express his gratitude for the meeting.

Afterwards, they discussed issues related to enhancing bilateral friendship and cooperation, manufacturing and trade issues, economic development, investment issues, and cooperation in agriculture, livestock and other sectors.
