BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), through the Community Development Department (JAPEM), organised the Ramadhan Charity Expedition Programme 1447H/2026 simultaneously across all four districts to deliver Hari Raya hampers containing cookies, cakes, fruits, and essential goods to 17 underprivileged families. The recipients included those receiving JAPEM’s monthly welfare assistance, as well as orphans, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
In the Brunei-Muara District, the charity expedition delegation was led by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Awang Haji Mohamad. A total of five houses were visited, beginning in Kampong RPN Mentiri, followed by Kampong Serasa, Kampong Tanah Jambu, Kampong RPN Lambak Kanan, and concluding at Kampong Kiulap. Acting Director of the Department of Community Development Fauziah binti Haji Mohd Salleh was also present.
Meanwhile, in the Belait District, the delegation was led by Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the MCYS Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan. The group visited four houses, starting at Kampong RPN Pandan, followed by two homes in Kampong RPN Panaga, and concluding at Kampong Jalan Mumong Selatan.
In the Temburong District, the delegation was led by Permanent Secretary (Community) at the MCYS Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari. A total of four houses were visited, beginning in Kampong Sumbiling Lama, followed by Kampong Meniup, Kampong Tanjung Bungar Baru, and concluding in Kampong Rataie.
In the Tutong District, the delegation was led by Deputy Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the MCYS Dr Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah. The expedition covered three houses, beginning in Kampong Lamunin and followed by two houses in Kampong Keriam.
The initiative aimed to strengthen ties between the government and members of the community in need. It is hoped that the contributions will help ease the burden of the recipients while bringing them joy in preparation for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
