MANILA – The COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) ticked up to 25.4 percent on May 13, according to Octa Research fellow David Guido.
In a Twitter post, David revealed that the rate increased from 24.9 percent last May 10 to 25.4 percent on Saturday.
He added that high positivity rates were also seen in cities and provinces of Bataan, Batangas, Benguet, Bulacan, Camarines Sur, Cavite, Isabela, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Pampanga, Quezon, Rizal.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 positivity rate in the entire country slightly dipped to 23.4 percent on May 14 from the 23.6 percent recorded the day before.
Citing from the Department of Health (DOH) latest data, David reported 2,109 new cases nationwide. Of that number, 855 were logged in Metro Manila; 171 from Cavite; followed by Rizal (128); Bulacan (104); Laguna (94); and Batangas (65), among others.
He also said that based on the latest DOH figures, May 15 could see 1,400 to 1,600 new COVID-19 cases.
As of May 14, the country’s total caseload is 4,115,202 — of which 15,891 are active cases, 4,032,858 are recoveries, and 66,453 are deaths.
