Kathmandu – Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav on Monday left for China for his first foreign trip since assuming the office on March 20.
Yadav embarked on the week-long trip leading a Nepali delegation ahead of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s scheduled visit to the northern neighbour.
The trip, approved by the Cabinet last Wednesday, will last until August 21.
The organisers of the 7th China-South Asia Expo and the 27th China Kunming Import and Export Fair in the city of Kunming invited Vice President Yadav, Minister for Education Ashok Rai, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ramesh Rijal, Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City Dhanraj Acharya and Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal. The event is scheduled to kick off this week.
Former vice presidents Nanda Bahadur Pun and Parmananda Jha had also attended the Kunming expo during their tenures. Pun had attended the fourth China-South Asia Exposition and the 24th China Kunming Import and Export Fair in 2016.
